    Irrfan Khan to essay writer Manto in Nandita Das's directorial

    Irrfan Khan will play the role of Pakistani writer Saadat Hasna Manto in upcoming directorial of Nandita Das.

    Nandita Das has donned the hat of director now and the award-winning movie ' Firaaq ' was her directorial debut. Now, Nandita is going to adapt the life of popular Pakistani writer Saadat Hasna Manto in her next film. Reportedly, Irrfan Khan will essay the role of Manto in Nandita Das 's next.

    Nandita Das praised Irrfan Khan by saying that he is a great actor as well as he is very much fluent in Urdu. Das is working on the script of this flick with Mir Ali Hussain and she will enliven the seven crucial years of Manto's life before and after the partition. In order to keep it authentic, Nandita wishes to do shooting of this film partly in Pakistan.

    Manto's writing represented the era before and after partition. His work in the form of sketches, short stories, essays and radio plays. The film will be shot in Mumbai and Lahore of that era.
