‘ Kedarnath ’ by Abhishek Kapoor is in limelight ever since its announcement. Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan are the lead stars of the film, it will also mark Sara’s debut in Bollywood. Earlier we mentioned that the film is slated to release in June next year, but now, producer Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment has revealed the release date to a leading daily.

The film would now release on January 26, 2019. “KriArj first has ‘ Padman ’ with Akshay sir (Kumar). It has got advanced from April to January. It will be followed by ‘ Pari ’ and ‘ Parmanu ’. Then Kedarnath , which I had to release by June. Being a very big film, there will be a lot of VFX, computer graphics and set building. When we wrapped up its shooting from Kedarnath (in Uttarakhand) and came to Mumbai, it was raining here. So, we could not build the set here because it’s huge. Now, we will be shooting in Mumbai from later this month or December. We will finish all the outdoor shoots and then we will build the whole set of Kedarnath somewhere in outskirts of Mumbai. Then there’s no hurry. We can start by April and by May-June we will be wrapping up the set schedule," said Prernaa.

Prernaa also added, "I have four films releasing next year, including Vishal sir’s (Bhardwaj’s co-production starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan ). So, I don’t want to release Kedarnath amid all of this. It’s a big film for me. So, I am looking at maybe January 26, 2019. The film needs to come at the right date. This is a business and a strategic call by KriArj to release out next big film widely. I am working on it (locking the January 26 date)."

Prernaa further added, "Brotherhood is its USP. The film talks about unity. So, January 26 (India’s republic day) gives me that requirement and privilege to bring out a subject that talks about the country’s unity, about Hindu-Muslim brotherhood. So, that’s why I am thinking of this date. Mostly, I will go with this."

Though the movie has to wait for 2019, we feel it’s the smart decision made my Prernaa Arora by postponing the dates of ‘ Kedarnath ’.
