Imran Khan's exit made Shahid Kapoor's entry in Ekta Kapoor's next

Shahid Kapoor proved lucky enough to grab a role in Ekta Kapoor\'s next, after Imran Khan stepped out of the film. Incidentally, the film also stars Shahid\'s ex- Priyanka Chopra.

A source said that, Imran was keen to work with Ekta again after \'Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara!\', but as the dates were clashing with his another project to be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. He preferred Motwane\'s film over Ekta\'s. In Motwane\'s film he will be seen playing a Gujarati Super-hero. Imran and Ekta parted on a cordial note.

This proved advantageous for Shahid to grab Ekta\'s next, which will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Also it will be exciting to watch out ex-couple, Shahid-Priyanka\'s chemistry on-screen.

Industry insider said that this might be the reason Shahid attended Ekta\'s bash for \'Lootera\'.
