In 2016, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury made his directorial debut in Bollywood with the critically and commercially successful film, Pink . The movie was rated as one of the highest rated films of that year and Chowdhury received rave reviews from all corners. For his next film, he was looking for Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra , but their collaboration never happened. But now, the director is ready with yet another script and, reportedly, has signed Huma Qureshi as the lead. According to insiders, the movie will be based on hard-hitting true incidents, and the Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 actress has given her nod to it.

"Huma and Aniruddha met a few times, and have spoken at length about this project. It’s a hard-hitting drama based on a real-life incident,” says the insider.

Huma will sign on the dotted line soon. “In all likelihood, the movie will go on floors this year and an official announcement is expected soon,” the source says.

Talking about Huma, though the actress has reportedly given her nod to Aniruddha's film, her prime focus at the moment is on her upcoming film, Kaala.

Starring legendary actors like Rajinikanth and Nana Patekar in the leads, Kaala will hit the screens on June 07th.
