This year, when Bollywood was enjoying the festival of colors, the Greek God of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan decided not to play Holi. Hrithik did not celebrate Holi as a mark of acute draught in some parts of Maharashtra. He expressed that when his fellow Maharashtrians are suffering from the acute water shortage, he cannot be insensitive to play Holi and waste so much of water. According to the source, instead of wasting water, Hrithik used only a small amount of Gulaal to apply a small shagun tika as a traditional ritual of Holi. Hrithik also insisted that people should use dry colors in a small amount as washing them also requires a large amount of water which defeats the idea of water conservation.

The source also said that, Hrithik's family also followed the same and celebrated Holi on a small scale. They just took part in a Pooja at their house and spent some time together instead of wasting water.
