The handsome actor Hrithik Roshan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming much-awaited film Kaabil that also stars Yami Gautam, Rohit Roy and Ronit Roy. The lead actors play the role of a blind couple in this flick. Hrithik Roshan had to ditch his chiselled physique to gain some extra kilos for this role of a common guy called Rohan.

The director Sanjay Gupta revealed, “His transformation may not be dramatic, but it's extremely significant. He surrendered to the role — that of a regular guy (Rohan), who is visually challenged. More importantly, he is captivated by the inner beauty of his love interest, played by Yami Gautam. Rohan has nothing of the physical attractiveness Hrithik is known for."

He had to gain fats and lose his muscles, hence some modifications were made in his diet. “Once he realised that his physical transformation important to the film, Hrithik went all out to look chubby. He was more than willing to ditch his sex appeal to portray the character with total conviction," said a source.

Kaabil hits the screens on January 25.
