We have kept our readers informed about the developments regarding Rajkumar Hirani 's upcoming production venture ' Saala Khadoos ' starring actor R. Madhavan in the lead. The actor essays the role of a retired boxer turned coach. And, for the female lead, the makers auditioned around 100 boxers and finally zeroed upon the National Level Boxer - Ritika Singh .

Singh is a national-level kick boxer and, is a black belt in karate. She has also learnt mixed martial arts and participated in Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt 's Super Fight League. The lady has represented India in Kick Boxing, Karate, and MMA.

Talking about Ritika, Hirani stated that "For the auditions we made her shoot a boxing scene just for me since I had not seen her in action in a match. I was impressed. Then, we gave her an emotional scene which required her to get angry and yell at Maddy. She took me by surprise. She doesn't try too hard; she's a spontaneous actress and an extremely focused girl." The film maker is impressed by the young boxer and stated that apart from boxing, she has also done dancing and expressed the dialogues and scenes well.
