Everyone is raving about the actress and praising her efforts that she has put in to play the royal queen in the period drama. To celebrate the appreciation coming her way, Deepika threw a grand house party which saw the attendance of many who’s who of Bollywood, including Ranveer Singh . But whose absence was conspicuously visible to everyone were Padmavati director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-actor Shahid Kapoor . Sanjay is currently busy finishing the shoot of Padmavati . Along with shooting for some patchwork, the acclaimed director is also busy with the edit of the movie. That is why he could not attend Deepika’s bash. Shahid, on the other hand, was not present at the do because he was not in town. The actor was out of the city with his family.

Recently, there were reports that since Shahid wasn’t happy with the first trailer of the film as Deepika and Ranveer hogged the limelight he didn’t attend the 3D trailer launch of the movie a couple of days back. On this, a source says, “At the Padmavati 3D trailer launch, Deepika Padukone was asked to go by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself as her date was with him. She was finishing some patchwork but he asked her to attend the event and complete her shoot after that. The moment she got done with the event, she left for the Padmavati shoot. Nobody questions Bhansali and she has worked with him in three films and understands where he’s coming from. The filmmaker is very clear on what he wants and there is apparently a marketing strategy that the three of them (Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor) will be promoting their film at different dates. A promotional schedule has been chalked out and Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh’s teams have been informed who will attend what event and where; so what was the fuss about? Shahid was not upset at all. Stars who work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali know that he controls the publicity and the actors have no hand in it at all.
