Here’s what Anurag Basu has to say about the stretched length of Jagga Jasoos!

Anurag Basu and the film’s team are gearing up for the release of their ambitious project Jagga Jasoos. Lead stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are promoting the film with full zeal and enthusiasm. The duo recently visited schools and spent time with the kids as the film primarily targets the kiddo audience. The trailer of the film gives a good glimpse into Jagga’s world which is no less than a fantasy land. It has got all Disney feel to it.

The film has been passed by the censor board with a clean ‘UA’ Certification as kids can duly enjoy this cinematic brilliance. The film has been made with a lot of efforts and visual effects are immense. It took around three years to make the movie. Now, another issue of the length of the film erupted as it is 2 hours 42 minutes long. These days films are just locked in within 2 hours of time as audience and even the distributors appreciate the time block.

But, Jagga Jasoos being a lengthy one, it is creating an issue for the multiplex chains to accommodate the movie in multiple slots. Even Ranbir feels the length needs to be adjusted but Anurag is firm that he won’t compromise on the footage even after the suggestions of 15-20 min cut. He has a carefree response to the scenario. In a statement, Anurag Basu said:

“Aur agar yeh film ki length lagbhag teen ghante hain toh kaun sa audience ko ghar jaake desh badalna hain? (And if this film’s length is nearly three hours then what is the big event that drags them away?).”

Co-produced by Ranbir Kapoor and Basu, Jagga Jasoos has been scheduled to releases on July 14, 2017!
