Just few years back, we saw Govinda romancing Katrina Kaif in the comic caper ' Partner ' and now, he is up to play father to Katrina's rumoured beau Ranbir Kapoor in his upcoming film, ' Jagga Jasoos '.

The film is the joint productional venture of Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu , in which, the Kapoor lad will be seen playing a 17 year-old teenager and to portray his jesting father, Basu was keen to rope in Govinda on the board. So last week, they met to discuss the project, where, he liked the concept and readily nodded 'yes' to Basu's proposal.

Though, Govinda will be seen as Ranbir's father, yet his role has got lot to offer with his perfect comic timing. When he was asked about his role, he did admit the news of being a part of ' Jagga Jasoos '. However, he added on saying the deal is being done verbally and all the other formalities are yet to be done.

' Jagga Jasoos ' also stars Katrina Kaif and is slated to release in second-half of 2014.
