Aamir Khan 's ' Dangal ' has been in news ever since its inception. It is a known fact that the film is a biopic on the life of former Indian Wrestler Mahavir Phogat. The casting of the film was a crucial aspect and a lot of effort by the team has been put into it. Apparently, actress Mallika Sherawat also auditioned for the role of Aamir's wife in the film some time back but could not bag the role.

In a recent media interaction, Mallika revealed the reason for the same. The actress stated that Aamir and the film team loved her auditions but they felt that irrespective of whatever make-up was put up on her, she would not look old enough to play a mother to four teenage daughters. This according to the actress is the sole reason why she lost out on the role. Later, the famous Television actress Saakshi Tanwar bagged Aamir's wife's role in the movie.
