Award nights have been under scrutiny to be biased and not appreciating genuinely talented cinema! And for this time, one of the prestigious award nights of all, IIFA 2017 New York, felt the heat this time as people criticize event for not even nominating last year critically and commercial record breaking hit Dangal and giving the title to the Airlift starring Akshay Kumar ! And it was so fierce that authority has to come up and clarify the smoke!

Apparently, as a process, every film maker and production house being asked to send an official preview footage to show during nomination reveal at the event. And in a case of negligence of proper formalities, such entry will be disqualified! Since everyone showbiz know the silent protest of actor and producer of film Dangal , Aamir Khan been doing for the award nights and hence his production house wasn’t keen to send their entry for the award night. And eventually, Bollywood fans took all this in a negative light!

Although it is also disheartening to see that Bollywood awards are losing its magic and its credibility, most of the viewers tuned into such award shows just as an entertainment event. About Dangal , though it surely doesn’t need any affiliation to prove its worth, as this sports biopic drama made huge fan base in not only in Indian market but also in China, and its box office report is a bright example of it!

Yet, as a token of appreciation to the fraternity and such award show, Aamir Khan Productions should have sent an official entry! What do you say?
