Exclusive: Kabir Khan reveals details about casting Salman Khan in his debut film!

Starting his career with making documentary films, eminent filmmaker and screenwriter Kabir Khan rose to fame with his debut film Kabul Express (2006), after which there was no looking back for him! Everyone is aware of his fondness with superstar Salman Khan and Kabir loves to direct him in his films. The filmmaker has made record-breaking blockbusters like Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman. Now, Kabir and Salman are gearing up for their upcoming film together which is Tubelight.

In an exclusive media interaction, Kabir Khan revealed interesting details about working with Salman Khan and even about actress Katrina Kaif. Kabir stated that he has always wanted to work with Salman Khan. In his debut film Kabul Express starring John Abraham in the lead, Kabir approached Salman to essay the Villan’s character but, due to some unavoidable reasons the actor had to turn down the film.

The filmmaker also quipped that, when he approached Katrina Kaif for New York (2009), she was not sure about signing the film. She confirmed it with Salman and also asked about Kabir's credentials to a director. Salman said good things about him and asked Katrina to sign the movie. Interesting, isn’t it?

So, Salman and Kabir’s acquaintance and now friendship traces back to the filmmaker’s initial days in the industry. It is a known fact that Salman Khan and Kabir Khan’s team is a hit machine, churning out blockbusters with ease. Much expectations hanger over their next which is Tubelight also starring Sohail Khan.

The film is a Salman Khan Films Production and is set at the backdrop of Indo-Chinese war. It will hit the theatres on 23 June 2017.
