Various buzzes spread around in the meanwhile about the probable choices for female leads in this Shah Rukh Khan 's home production. And now, Deepika Padukone will be playing the leading lady in ' Happy New Year ' opposite SRK.

At regular intervals, various contenders, who were wishing to bag this role, kept on giving rise to unofficial updates about the same. However, Deepika was always on the top list of grabbing the role and she preferred to keep mum about it, as the dates were being sorted out. Deepika even did not comment anything after finalizing her in the female lead role.

With Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan , Deepika shares a special tuning and hence, three of them have a very good rapport. Farah and Shahrukh gave the first break to the dimpled beauty Deepika Padukone in the film ' Om Shanti Om ' in the year 2007, the film that saw a huge commercial success. After forthcoming rom-com ' Chennai Express ', Deepika and Shahrukh will be seen rocking on the screen together in ' Happy New Year '.
