We reported our readers earlier that film maker David Dhawan plans to make the sequel of the super hit film Judwaa (1997) that starred Salman Khan. Dhawan opens up about the film and why he decided to take up the project, in a recent interaction with the media.

The film maker spoke about the upcoming film and said, "We are going to start shooting by the end of the year. Right now I am working on the script. We've to make sure the story justifies a sequel. We can't just have sequel to cash in on a successful film. That's why we waited 18 years to do the sequel."

David Dhawan took this project because his son Varun Dhawan was casted as the male lead. He said, "I am in this because producer Sajid Nadiadwala asked me. He and I go back a long way. When Varun was cast in Judwaa 2, I had to do the sequel.
