Omerta is a crime drama directed by Hansal Mehta with Rajkummar Rao being the lead. The film is Mehta’s study on the criminal mastermind and terrorist, Omar Saeed Sheikh. After releasing the first poster and trailer, the makers have now revealed the second poster of the film. In the poster, Rajkummar or we say Omar is seen standing at the steps of a police van with media personalities surrounded all around him. What makes the poster more gruesome is Rajkummar’s look. Despite being in police custody he doesn’t look tensed at all.
Omerta PosterMehta stated that his intention behind making Omerta was to explore evil as a human characteristic. He further said that he wanted to leave the audience with a sense of awe, disgust, hate, surprise and to examine the ramifications of these [terror] events on their lives today. Mehta called the villain of the film, Omar Sheikh, the Hannibal of terrorism who could be planning how to outwit you even while talking to you.
The film was shot in real locations across London and India, while the scenes of Afghanistan and Pakistan were recreated.
Helmed by Mehta, Omerta is written by Mukul Dev and backed by Swiss Entertainment and Karma Features and it will be released on 20th April 2018.
