After the successful second part, the makers planned to invest in the third instalment of the film Hate Story 2. Though managing all the aspects of a movie is a tough task, the makers are particularly having a hard time finalising the casting of the movie. Earlier, Sharman Joshi was signed as the lead by director Vishal Pandya and producer Bhushan Kumar. But the actor opted out due to date issues.
Later there was news that actor Gurmeet Choudhary was finalised as the lead but he also seem to have turned down the main role. According to a leading daily, Gurmeet liked the role and wants to work with the director-producer Jodi, but had to opt out due to the date clash with his other film. Although Gurmeet stated that he would love to work with Bhushanji in the future.
