Bollywood’s charming actor Ayushman Khurana who is riding on the success of Bareilly Ki Barfi is all set for his next film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan . With promotions going on with full zeal, the subject of the film is also being discussed a lot. The movie has been passed with U/A certification from the Censor Board despite being based on an adult subject and the makers are delighted about the same. In a recent media interaction, Ayushman discussed the film in detail, about the role and also says he feels life has come a full circle from being a sperm donor to having an erectile dysfunction!

Talking about his debut film Vicky Donor, Ayushman stated, "I had asked Shoojit Sircar (director of Vicky Donor), 'Why did you choose me for the role of a sperm donor?' he said he wanted somebody who has a clean image and looks innocent. If that innocence is taken out of the subject then it may become cheap. He added, “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan also required an innocent and a lovable person to play the character.”

"It was very ironical when I got to know the subject, I felt life has come a full circle from a sperm donor to erectile dysfunction. This kind of film is required in today's day and age. People are patriarchal, they don't talk about problems and it's sad," the actor added.

He further said, the film wants to spread a message, “We can't brush this problem under the carpet, we have to be open up and talk about it."

Ayushman spoke about working with Bhumi Pednekar after their hit Dum Laga Ke Haisha, he said, "Bhumi and I had to bring that innocence in our chemistry to deal with the subject. With this subject, innocence will work otherwise it won't work. It's great to be working with someone who is a friend, but you have to be good actors as well. I am glad people like our pairing on screen."

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is directed by R S Prasanna, the film is set to release on 1 September 2017. It is presented by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions Pvt.
