Ayushman Khurana’s last film Meri Pyaari Bindu with Parineeti Chopra did not work well at the box-office. But, the actor is now hopeful once again and is gearing up for his next which is Bareilly Ki Barfi along with Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao. The movie is directed by renowned director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari who was applauded for her Neil Battey Sanata (2015) starring Swara Bhaskar. The early looks of the film and the trailer make it seem a good and an entertaining flick. In a recent media interaction, Ayushman Khurana had a candid chat with a leading daily about the film and working with a female director.
Ayushman Khurana, Ashwini Iyer TiwariWhen asked if there is a difference between working with a male and a female director, he said, “I don’t think so. We should not typecast female directors just because they are supposedly better with emotions or because we think they can’t do action films etc. I only believe in the fact that they are directors and are good at their job. I don’t classify them as male or female directors.”
Ayushman does not believe in categorizing male and female directors and thinks that it will be generalizing and stereotyping a gender. He added, “And you just can’t do that. Every person is different, regardless of their gender. I think we have made our own rules about men and women behaving a certain way. That’s not the case at all.”
Ayushman also praised his director and said, “Ashwini is a brilliant director her Neil Battey Sanata and Bareilly Ki Barfi are completely disparate that shows her versatility as a director.”
Bareilly Ki Barfi is all set to release on August 18, 2017. The makers of Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena Parkar have shifted the release date and avoided the clash successfully.
