Athiya Shetty , who was last seen in Anees Bazmee 's hit comic-caper, Mubarkan, has bagged her next film. According to reports, the actress has been signed to play the female lead in Gulshan Grover ’s upcoming film. She will play the role of a Kashmiri girl in the movie. Though no official confirmation has been made in this regards, it is being said that the actress is very much onboard.

Athiya started her career with Salman Khan 's home production, Hero , which was a remake of Subhash Ghai 's cult film of the same name. Also starring debutant Sooraj Pancholi , the film failed to live up to the expectations and was a box office failure. After that, she starred in Mubarkan where she was paired opposite Arjun Kapoor . The film did well at the box office and Athiya's performance was also appreciated.
