A few days ago, the makers of ‘ Total Dhamaal ’ confirmed the news of casting Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit opposite each other, and Ajay Devgn filling in the shoes of Sanjay Dutt in the movie. Anil and Madhuri, who are coming together after a gap of 17 years, will be seen romancing in the film. While the fans will see the iconic Jodi romancing each other, there’s news that no female lead is cast opposite Ajay Devgn in ‘ Total Dhamaal ’. Talking about it, a source told to a tabloid, "There was no truth to the rumours about Ajay recommending Ileana for Total Dhamaal . It is true that the original script had scope for another actress besides Madhuri. But on second thoughts, the makers felt that it would be interesting to see Ajay without a love interest. If you see ‘ Dhamaal ’ and ‘ Double Dhamaal ’, Sanjay Dutt ’s character too didn’t have a leading lady opposite him."

Talking about the commencement of the shoot, the source further said, "The team is currently doing a recce in Uttar Pradesh. They will start shooting in Lucknow tentatively on December 15. Ajay’s role will be similar to what Dutt has played in the earlier installments. The role will be adapted keeping in mind Devgn’s brooding personality and quirks."

Talking about Anil and Madhuri's pairing in the film, the director earlier said, “This film is essentially a comedy so don't expect any 'Dhak Dhak' but I promise total dhamaal. Anil and Madhuri have always been a great pair to work with and getting them together again is a dream."

While looking in an optimistic way, with ‘ Total Dhamaal ’ the audiences will not only get the chance to see Anil and Madhuri romance after a long time but they will also see Ajay in slightly different avatar with no female lead opposite him.
