The lovebirds were in a relationship for about two years and the two got engaged on April 24, 2017. Finally, the most beloved couple got married and the news is confirmed by one of the close sources. The source revealed, “It’s an intimate, homely affair. Other than their family members, Zaheer’s close cricketer friends like Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra, and Ajit Agarkar are also expected to be present. After the marriage, there will be a cocktail party at a five-star hotel in the evening. The Mehendi ceremony will take place on Sunday, followed by a grand reception on Monday evening.”

Talking about Sagarika and getting married, Zaheer earlier said, "It's upbeat for me, stressful for Sagarika (smiles). She is the worrier because she is more responsible as far as the timelines are concerned. With me, things go haywire."

When asked over the issue of inter-religious marriage, Zaheer said, “Both our families are evolved enough to understand that it’s about marrying the right person over marrying into the same religion. It’s important to be a good human being.” Sagarika too seconded his thoughts saying, “My parents are also open-minded and their primary concern was that I marry the right person. I am sure they may have had their apprehensions, but after meeting him, it cleared a lot of things for them. He is perfect.”
