If there is any Hollywood movie that has kept Bollywood filmmakers too intrigued to make an Indian remake then that is 2014’s blockbuster hit, The Fault in Our Stars! Karan Johar first bought the rights for the movie keeping in mind Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Then Ishaan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor were considered as lead couple. And now Sushant Singh Rajput will be playing the lead role in the film and casting director Mukesh Chabbra will be debuting as director with this remake!

While in conversation with Mumbai Mirror , Mukesh Chabbra told “Yes, I am on board for The Fault in Our Stars remake! I’m working on the script at the moment. Sushant is the leading man and we are still in the process of casting the heroine.” And as the source close to production house revealed, “Mukesh was the one who introduced Sushant to Abhishek Kapoor for Kai Po Che and he had always wanted to work with him and felt he would be perfect for this film. And though the film will be inspired by the Hollywood film, the script will be adapted to Indian sensibilities.”

The Hollywood film, The Fault In Our Stars, was based on John Green’s novel of the same name, and the story of a teenager Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters who meet each other at a cancer support group and then embark on a life-changing journey which brings them even closer. The film will be produced by Fox Star Studios and it is expected to hit theatres in 2018!
