Varun Dhawan has had a terrific 2017 with two of his films – Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2 – doing outstanding business at the box office. Even before completing Judwaa 2 with his father David Dhawan , Varun had announced that he would next star in Shoojit Sircar ’s slice-of-life love story called October . The actor started shooting for the Shoojit Sircar directorial from the month of September and, within two months, the film is over.

Varun Dhawan took to Twitter and shared a photo with the entire cast and crew of the film. His tweet read, "October this is more than just a film for me. The hardworking people behind everything you will see on screen. #lifeisagreatteacher. Thank you, Delhi for the love. This city is a big part of our film. Thank you dada @shoojitsircar... April 13th 2018 (sic)."

Written by Juhi Chaturvedi , October stars debutante Banita Sandhu opposite Varun Dhawan . The film was earlier scheduled to release on 1st June 2018, but now its release date has been preponed to 13th April 2018.
