‘Gumnaam’ is an upcoming film, which is to be helmed by Eshwar Niwas and produced by Jayantilal Gada . The makers of the film have decided to make the film in Hindi as well as in South version. It is believed that Amitabh Bachchan has been approached for the Hindi part, while Mohanlal is being considered for its South version. Producer Jayantilal Gada confirmed the news to a leading daily, he said, "We have approached them but they are yet to sign on the dotted lines. We have narrated the story to them and they both have given positive feedback. For the South version, we have Mr. Mohanlal and for Hindi part, we have Mr. Bachchan."

When asked whether the movie is a remake of 1965’s movie of the same name, Gada said, "We are on the project, which is a suspense thriller. It is not a remake of 'Gumnaam'. It is a remake of a Tamil film, whose title we can't reveal at the moment. We have just used the title 'Gumnaam'." While the film is still under production, Bachchan is busy shooting for Vijay Krishna Acharya ’s upcoming ‘ Thugs of Hindostan ’ and Umesh Shukla ’s 102: NotOut .
