It was earlier reported that the young Diva Alia Bhatt would romance with south superstar Dhanush in the director K. V. Anand 's next directorial venture. Alia who debuted with Karan Johar 's film ' Student Of The Year ' was approached by the director to play the lead role opposite Dhanush in this untitled film.

However, the director cleared the rumors about Alia's selection for this film. He explained that he approached Alia for the lead role in this film. He even narrated the whole story to her and she was really very excited for the project. She liked the role as well. But, unfortunately she is unable to dedicate her time to this movie as she has made her work commitments previously. So as she does not have the required dates, she had to skip this opportunity because of shortage of time. The director revealed that he along with his team are planning to commence the shoot for the film from 17th August. Alia had three dates only for initial months, but for the latter on schedules, she already has some work commitments. Hence the director did not settle on Alia.

The director said that currently he is in the process of finalizing the cast and crew for this project and will make the official announcement soon after the finalization. He revealed that he will confirm the crew by this week.
