    Akshay Kumar starrer upcoming sports drama Gold will be a fictional take on the 1948 Olympics.

    The upcoming sports drama Gold starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role is on the verge of becoming highly anticipated flick owing to its theme. The director Reema Kagti revealed some details regarding the film by saying it's a fictional take on the 1948 Olympics.

    The game of hockey will be prominently incorporated in the plot and there will be a powerful storyline. This will be a fictional take on series of events happened during 1948 Olympics. The crucial journey of 12 years in the Indian sports history will be presented in it. It revolves around the theme of India winning its 1st Gold medal as a free nation in 1948 Olympics.

    The movie Gold is produced by Excel Entertainment and is expected to hit the floors in the second half of 2017. Gold releases on August 15, 2018.
