' Special 26 ' fame Neeraj Pandey will join hands with Vikram Malhotra to direct and co-produce an action-thriller starring Akshay Kumar in the lead. Keeping in mind the patriotic topic of the film, releasing it on the eve of next year's Republic Day seems to be perfect according the views of the filmmakers. Akshay's work ethics impressed the director Pandey during the shoot of ' Special 26 '. The yet untitled film by Neeraj Pandey is anticipated to start rolling around April to June this year. A close source revealed that "Although it is set in India, the story and the characters travel across the globe. So, the film will also be shot in parts of Western Europe and the Middle-East. Don't expect an ' Ek Tha Tiger ' or any other Bollywood movies in the genre. It is more in the league of the Bond and Bourne Identity series but sans the fantasy elements of these Hollywood biggies. It will also have the ability to create a franchise of its own." Neeraj Pandey confirmed the news update by saying that the team is looking forward for the Republic Day release and the film is currently under the scripting phase.
