The filmmaker Rumi Jaffery is designing the remake of yesteryears' classic film ' Shaukeen ' (1982). As per the buzz, Akshay Kumar will be playing the lead role in this remake. The female lead in the film will be played by the actress Nargis Fakhri .

The original ' Shaukeen ' was shot in the Indian beaches' paradise, Goa. The filmmakers are thinking of shooting its remake in Thailand. ' Shaukeen ' of 80's was a story of three old men, who were shown lusting after a simple girl. Nargis Fakhri will be enacting the role played by Rati Agnihotri in the original version of the film. The character portrayed by Mithun Chakraborty would be reprised by Akshay Kumar in the new episode of the movie.

Albeit, the earlier ' Shaukeen ' was containing Mithun only for performing a small role, the new version of the movie will be customized in terms of Akshay's role in it. As the reports say, owing to a small role to enact, Akshay Kumar has not charged his normal fee for 'Shaukeen' remake. Instead of charging fee, the actor would have a stake in the film.

The roles of mischievous old men will be played by eminent actors like Anupam Kher , Paresh Rawal and Annu Kapoor .
