Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going to be honoured for her contribution in Indian as well as world art and culture segment. She would be honoured by the Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S. Yeddyurappa. This honour would be presented to her at the 2nd Vishwa Kannada Sammelana which is going to be held on the 11th of March in Belgaum. According to the sources she would remain present at the inaugural of this 3 day celebrations which are being held in Belgaum.

The purpose of the Vishwa Kannada Sammelan is to showcase the developments achieved by the their state Karnataka in the field of Irrigation, Information Technology, Agriculture Bio technology, Industry, Arts and Culture etc. They are not only honouring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but they are also honouring other people of Karnataka origin who have made it big outside their State and abroad in any of the fields related with art, culture or other fields mentioned above.
