There were several rumours and speculations about actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s magnum opus Padmavati . Reports stated that she will be seen in a special song. But, a close source rubbished the rumours and cleared the air.

The source revealed, “Sanjay and Aishwarya are associated far beyond their cinematic collaborations. They meet socially. Aishwarya is one of the few film people whom Sanjay considers a friend. They met last at the Bachchans’ Diwali bash. But that’s it. There was never any talk of doing a role in Padmavati.”

According to the source, “The dramatic conflict in the plot hinges on the three characters Rani Padmavati, her husband played by Shahid Kapoor and the invader played by Ranveer Singh, who falls for Padmavati. Aditi Rao plays Ranveer’s wife. Besides that there is no other female character.”

Padmavati is set to release on 17 November, 2017.
