After giving breaks to many new talents in his films, distinguished filmmaker Karan Johar made his full-fledged acting debut with Anurag Kashyap's mega budgeted film Bombay Velvet in 2015. Everyone thought the film would turn out to be a huge hit as it also boasted of the presence of stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma , and Karan would continue making appearances in films more often than not. But surprisingly, the film did not do well at the box and people thought Karan would never act again. But Karan is a man who loves surprising his admirers. In another surprise to all his fans, Karan has signed a film tentatively titled Crazy Hum.

The new project is said to be revolving around the glitzy International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. It will bring to the light what all goes behind the stage at IIFA, which is the biggest amalgamation of biggest Bollywood stars under one roof.

A source informed a leading tabloid, "It is a full-fledged role and not a cameo. While many celebs are making cameos, KJo has a prominent part in the film. He will be seen playing himself," informs a source. Newbie director Chakri Toleti had approached the filmmaker a few months ago. "He was kicked about the idea the minute he heard it."

Karan Johar is currently in New York where he will host the show along with Saif Ali Khan .
