Waheeda Rehman, a veteran actress, would be awarded with the Indian Lifetime Achievement Award at the forthcoming 14th Mumbai Film Festival.
This news was announced yesterday at the NCPA, Mumbai. Many renowned personalities like Ramesh Sippy, Sudhir Mishra and Shyam Benegal were present at the curtain raiser.
The 14th Mumbai Film Festival, which would be held from October 18-25, 2012, would be organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI). The chairman of MAMI Shyam Benegal said, \"This year we have decided to award the Lifetime Achievement Award to Waheeda Rehman for the extraordinary work she has put in the last 60 years.\"
Ramesh Sippy, who is one of the trustees of MAMI added, \"All I can say is that there is a feast awaiting you. The festival will have a lovely spread of cinema. Festivals are the best time to celebrate and enjoy cinema.\"
It has been reported that over 200 films over 65 countries would be screened at MFF.
