Ranveer Singh is a Gen Y superstar and he is constantly proving it by delivering back to back astonishing performances. Early this year, he appeared in a grey role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s magnum opus, Padmaavat , and his portrayal of Alauddin Khilji became people’s favourite in no time. His performance was so surreal and path-breaking that he has been finalised for the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award as Best Actor this year for his movie Padmaavat.

Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards aren’t the same as Dadasaheb Phalke Award given by the Indian government.

“We take immense pleasure to inform you that you have been finalised for The Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for the memorable role for the Padmaavat,” the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award committee wrote to Ranveer announcing his award.

On the work front, he will be seen in Rohit Shetty ’s Simmba in December this year, then he has Zoya Akhtar ’s Gully Boy , which is scheduled to release in February next year and then he will appear in Kabir Khan ’s 83 , which will come in August 2019.
