THE LOST TAPE is a Hindi feature film which released on 14th September, 2012. It has been produced by Ashok Baphna under the banner of Jai Viratra Entertainment Ltd. It has been directed by Rakshit Dahiya and falls in the genre of crime-thriller. Is it worth watching? Read the review below.

Story : Five youngsters go into the forest of Chail which is in Himachal Pradesh. They have gone there to explore the story of a legend. But they had never thought that while exploring other's story they would become a part of it. The more they move ahead, the more they get confused and get into reality which is not explained to their minds. They might have thought it to be a mere myth.

When they enter into the forest they vanish mysteriously. They are searched for nearly six months but no one gets any clue about them so the case gets closed. However, one day police gets a digital video recorder which was very helpful in solving the mystery.

What had happened to those 5 youngsters? Were they alive or dead? All such answers are solved in the remaining part of the film.

Performance : All actors are almost new so you can't expect anything from them. Ankuar Panchal, Esha Rajee, Nishantt Tanwar, and Shaurya Singh have tried to do their best but hardly impress you.

Script : The plot appears to be interesting but its screenplay is very weak and there are many flaws in it.

Technical Department Review : The DOP and the editor of this film are students of Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods Academy and you can clearly see their amateurish work. Camerawork is very poor as it is too much shaky. You can clearly notice that the film has been shot by handy cam or with hand handled camera. So is the case with its editing department.

Direction : The director Rakshit is also a student of the same academy. This film is their first attempt to do something independently and they have tried well but it cannot be said for commercial purpose. It should have been made for personal viewing as many people do or they upload on You Tube. You should not expect people to spend money and time to watch such movies. However, it is not so bad and has a shocking end.

Conclusion : Its plot appears to be interesting and creates interest in its reader but it is not properly executed hence after watching you feel cheated like you might have felt cheated in Ram Gopal Varma's AGYAT.

Verdict : Not worth spending money and time on it!Its makers are learning to make films!
