MERE DOST PICTURE ABHI BAKI HAI is a Hindi feature film which released on 20th July, 2012. It has been directed by Rajnish Raj Thakur. This film mainly stars Suniel Shetty and its genre is comedy.

Story : Amar Joshi (Sunil Shetty) wants to make a career in film industry because from many years he had been dreaming for it. To materialize his dream he wants to go to London to get training (to learn film making course) but his father is not ready. Yet he manages to go to London and learn film making.

When he returns to Mumbai (Bollywood) he comes with his own script to direct but he doesn't find anyone who could be of any help to him to materialize his dream. However, he has one connection in film industry Suraj (Rajpal Yadav) who is the only aid for him to make his entry into the film industry. But even Suraj is not a big star; he is just a struggling actor (character artist) who acts in TV serials.

Hence, after a long struggle, Amar gets a producer Monty (Rakesh Bedi) to produce his film. With some sources he is able to rope in top actress Mohini (Udita Goswami). But soon after the start of the film, trouble begins. His producer Monty disappears mysteriously. But twist comes in the film when the real financer of the film, underworld don Sudama Bhosle (Deepak Shirke) gets directly into the making of Amar's film. He indirectly compels Amar to cast his girlfriend Tina (Mumait Khan) in the film. Amar does not want to cast her but he is left with no choice. So against his will he casts her.

But thereafter a new and established writer is hired and again and twist start coming in the film.

Everyone wants to change the script which Amar doesn't like. Would he be able to complete his film? What would be the fate of the film? Such queries are answered in the remaining part of the film.

Acting : There is a huge crowd of comedy actors in this film. Yet Suniel Shetty gives the best performance. Om Puri is also impressive in his small role. Rajpal Yadav and Rakesh Bedi are okay. Udita Goswami is so and so.

Script : The script is written by the director itself which is not attractive. Though the thought of the film appears to be good and funny, in real it is not so when you watch the movie. It is not a new concept and many films in the past contain segment of this though what has been tried to show in a complete film.

Music : Below Average

Cinematography : Okay

Direction : The director Rajnish has not done a fair job. His direction is poor and confusing. He failed to create humor and make you laugh despite so many comedy actors. He himself has also written the script so he should have done better. But he failed in writing script as well as in direction.

Plus Points : Thought of the film; Suniel Shetty's Performance

Minus Points : Poor Script & Direction; Music; Stale Plot

Conclusion : Though it stars Suniel Shetty, it would hardly attract audience due to poor presentation and direction. Its box office collections would be very poor.

Verdict : To know the reality of the film industry you can watch it otherwise skip it.
