One line Review: A reincarnation tale, that moves between present and 300 years ago which is based on a weak script and disappointing execution.
Positive Points: The movie is shot in exotic locations be it in London or in Rajasthan. The beautiful locales in the backdrop will definitely make you fall for them. The passage of the frames from one era to another i.e. from present to 300 years ago is fairly smooth. Few songs from the film.
Negative Points: Force full injection of many sequences, the plot is dragged too much in the first half, flat dialogues that fail to lift the script, The story is not weaved appropriately and presentation is highly disappointing. The performances of the leads were nothing close to good while the supporting actors performed averagely.
Plot: 'Ek Paheli Leela' rides on a weak script where the only thing to watch is Sunny Leone. The reincarnation tale revolves around Meera (Sunny Leone) who is a super model from Milan who is signed by Andy (VJ Andy) and Radhika (Shivani Tanksale), who is a photographer for a photo shoot project. Meera lives with a phobia of darkness. When Andy forces Meera to sign up for a photo shoot project in Rajasthan, India, she refuses instantly and the reason being her fear of flights. Meera lost her parents in an air crash and since then she is living her life on anti-depressants. But Radhika tricks her in a plane ride by making her drunk.
On reaching Rajasthan, Meera instantly relates to the culture and gets acquainted with everything around. In Rajasthan amidst all the shoot and everything she falls in love with the Rajput Prince Ranveer (Mohit Ahlawat) and eventually marries him. On the other hand, there is Karan (Jay Bhanushali) who is a musician based in Mumbai. Karan is disturbed with the glimpses of his past life and tries to solve the mystery and in his quest reaches Rajasthan. Meera, however, in her past life which was 300 years ago, is a local Rajasthani girl named Leela, who is super sexy and wears revealing cholis. Leela is in love with Shravan (Rajneesh Duggal) and wishes to marry him but Bhairav (Rahul Dev) who is a famous sculpture falls for Leela or rather lusts for her and expresses his desire to make an eternal sculpture of her. The tale moves from past to present smoothly and the story unfolds for further twists and turns.
Direction and other Technical Aspects: The script is extremely weak and badly fails to keep the audiences hooked. The concept could have been built to something better, but the unfortunate execution is highly disappointing. The dialogues are just not up to the mark and the unnecessary injection of some sequences drops the grip. Adding silly double meaning jokes which are not required does not make it funny but nauseating. The direction also cannot be appreciated and the camera work is too bold.
Performances: This is Sunny Leone's another full-fledged Bollywood movie where she plays a double role in the film but still needs to go a long way when it comes to acting. She is sure super hot as Leela and sexy and glamorous as Meera but for her dialogue delivery and acting skills, there is a lot of scope for improvement.
Jay Bhanushali's performance was average and was nothing over the top. The other actors like Mohit Ahlawat, Rajneesh Duggal, Shivani Tanksale among others performed their part fairly well. VJ Andy on the other hand was so much of his own self on the big screen. It didn't feel for a minute that he is playing some different role that is a part of a reincarnation tale. There should be special mention of an actor who performed extremely well - Rahul Dev as the villainous sculpture was incredibly awesome in the whole scenario. He truly depicted the cruelty on-screen and made it believable at least for some time.
Music: The film is named as a musical thriller hence there are many numbers in it, few are good, and some are passable. The songs like 'Desi Look', 'Dholi Taro Dhol' and 'Nahi Jeena Tere Bina' fall in the good category rest are forcefully put in and do not even match with the context.
Final Verdict: The movie is surely going to be a treat for Sunny's fans as one can see her in almost every frame the film. Whether it's a watch or no purely depends on personal choice but it if we talk about the content it seriously is not worth it.
