I AM SINGH is a Hindi feature film directed by Puneet Issar, which released on 2nd November, 2011.

Story : Ranveer (Gulzar Inder Chahal) is in India whereas his brothers are settled in US. One day his father wants to meet his other sons who are in America and wants to take his son Ranveer along with him but due to some reasons Ranveer doesn't go to Amarica.

After some days Ranveer comes to know that his family was attacked in America and his father was injured whereas one of his brother's was missing. Life and the film takes a turn and he had to go to America where he comes to know that his family was attacked by local goons and even some top officials in police were indirectly involved in it.

He wants to fight for justice but doesn't know how to go ahead in a country which was not his own country. Even police officials do not lend him a helping hand. Finally he gets help from Rizwan (Rizwan Haider) who was a Pakastini, but had taken the citizenship of America long time back. He was an eye witness to the attack. He also gets help from Fateh Singh (Puneet Issar) who is an ex. Cop and who was removed from police department because he was asked to take off his turban which he didn't do.

Is Ranveer able to fight the battle and get justice? Does he get justice? What about his brother? Is he alive or dead? Who are others who help him and how? Such answers are given in the rest of the film.

Performances : Gulazar Inder Chahal fails to impress. He is loud at many places and expression wise he is weak. Puneet Issar is as usual. Foreign ladies who help Gulzar are average.

Music : It is below average. Even the songs/lyrics are below average.

Script : Though the message of the film is good it had not been presented in a well manner. The script is life less and boring. It is dull at many places and it appears to be like a documentary. The writers (which also include Puneet Issar) have unnecessarily given too much footage to the story of Fateh Singh (Puneet Issar) which can be well understood that it is due to Puneet Issar's influence.

Plus Points : Only the message of the film. It could have been thrilling but fails to be so.

Minus Points : Poor and boring script; It is not for whole India but only for limited community.

Conclusion : Earlier a film of Akshay Kumar SINGH IS KING was a bit successful which might have inspired Puneet Issar to make a film with the title-I AM SINGH. But without good and tight content, it is hardly going to earn revenues except in Punjab and Haryana etc. Puneet Issar shouldn't have taken so much footage post interval (he has misused his power of the director) for which he will have to pay when the film will face losses at the box office. His direction is okay and some shots are excellent and never seen in any movie earlier. But excellent shots only add benefits to any film; they will not cause any film to earn huge revenues. It is the content and the star performance which audiences want to see the best. Rest is rest!!

Verdict : If you are a Punjabi you may like it or even you may not get entertained. Better skip it and wait for its satellite release.
