Lee Jung Jae has earned yet another award for his role in Squid Game (2021).The 37th Film Independent Spirit Awards were held in California on March 6 (local time). South Korean actor Lee Jung Jae won the award for 'Best Male Performance in a New Scripted Series' at the gala honouring the best independent films and television series of 2021. Olly Alexander (It's a Sin), Michael Greyeyes (Rutherford Falls), Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), and Ashley Thomas (THEM: Covenant) were among the other nominees.

In a video, he said, “Thank you for giving me this meaningful award and loving 'Squid Game. I thank the Squid Game team, Netflix, and all viewers" Implying that he is working on the second season of Netflix's most popular show. "What you are all curious about the most is when season 2 (of Squid Game) will come out. Hang on for a bit."

Following his victory at the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) last week, Lee Jung Jae won Best Actor for the second week in a row. At the SAG Awards, the 49-year-old actor made history by winning Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series for the first time.
