In the animated film "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld's Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy work together to save several Spider-People from other universes. To stop a new enemy who wants to bring about a tragedy that could impact every world, they must collaborate with a new squad. Miles is informed in the trailer that being Spider-Man involves making sacrifices.

Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld are among the actors who will be seen in the movie, along with Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker from the previous film, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Jason Schwartzman as the Spot, Luna Lauren Vélez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, and Shea Whigham.

In the shared multiverse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a follow-up to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).

Joaquim Dos Santos ("Avatar: The Last Airbender"), Kemp Powers ("Soul"), and Justin K. Thompson ("Soul") are co-directing the sequel ("Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse"). Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Dave Callaham, who also penned "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," are among the authors. Together with Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, and Christina Steinberg, Lord and Miller are also the producers. Alonzo Ruvalcaba is a co-producer on the movie, and Brian Michael Bendis, Robert Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman, and Aditya Sood are executive producers.

The movie's original release date was initially scheduled for April 2022, but it was postponed to June 2, 2023. "Across the Spider-Verse" (Part 1) and "Beyond the Spider-Verse" (Part 2) are the two parts of the "Spider-Verse: Into the Spider-Verse" sequel, which will be released on June 2 and March 29 of 2024, respectively.
