Elvis and Priscilla Presley's daughter Lisa Marie Presley, a singer-songwriter, passed away at age 54. In a statement released on Thursday night, Priscilla said, "It is with a heavy heart that I must deliver the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. Priscilla further mentioned, "She was the most fervent, powerful, and loving woman I've ever met. In order to process this tragic loss, we respectfully request your privacy. I appreciate your prayers and love. There won't be any more comments at this time."
Presley received emergency medical attention on Thursday morning for what might have been a heart arrest. A paramedic response to the 5900 block of Normandy Drive in Calabasas for the treatment of a woman in her 50s who was not breathing was confirmed by a representative for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Once they noticed "signs of life," the paramedics stopped performing CPR and took the woman to a nearby hospital for "urgent medical attention."
Because she was recently pictured attending the Golden Globes 2023 awards ceremony with her mother to support Austin Butler, who won for best performance in a drama for his portrayal of Lisa Marie Presley's father in Baz Luhrman's Elvis, she was last seen in good health. This is why the news of Lisa Marie Presley's death has come as such a shock.
On February 1, 1968, nine months after Elvis and Priscilla's wedding, the singer was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Following her parents' 1973 divorce, Lisa Marie relocated to Los Angeles with her mother at the age of 4. Lisa Marie sought a career in music as well, following in her father's footsteps. Over the course of her career, she put out three of her own albums, including Storm & Grace in 2012 and the gold-certified To Whom It May Concern in 2003.
