Helmed by Adam Wingard 2021 blockbuster 'Godzilla Vs Kong' the long-awaited face-off between two icons in the epic adventure film.
According to sources, the sequel to the franchise is being shot in Queensland, Australia, according to the government agency. Though the film isn’t titled yet.
Details of the sequel have been kept under wraps, although 'Godzilla Vs Kong' director Adam Wingard told the source last year he would "absolutely love to continue" with the franchise.
He added, "The clear starting point we teed up (in GVK), exploring Hollow Earth, I think there is a lot more to do there. This is a pre-history of Planet Earth, where all the titans come from. We tee up some mystery in this film, things I want to see resolved and explored and pushed to the next level."
GVK broke several pandemic box office records, and grossed over $468.2 million worldwide, against a production budget between $155–200 million and a break-even point of $330 million, making it the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2021.
Palaszczuk also noted how they expect the film to garner more than double the $36.5 million that Godzilla Vs Kong brought to the state and she also claimed such movies to be a boon as they boost the economy to recover from the global pandemic.
