The 2022 MTV EMAs were held on Sunday at the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Taylor Swift was the major winner. Swift, who currently has the number-one single on the charts Anti-Hero from her critically acclaimed new album Midnights, made a surprise appearance at the awards ceremony in Dusseldorf to accept her prize. The artist of "Anti-Hero" won four prizes for "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)," including best artist, best video, best pop, and best long-form video.
Taylor Swift made a dramatic entrance on the red carpet at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The singer opted for a bold design by David Koma that included a statement bejeweled chain-link pattern skirt covered with stunning emerald stones encircled by tiny crystals, placed over a black bodysuit. She accessorized with a selection of edgy ear cuffs and a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti slingback sandals.
Three months after winning Video of the Year at the 2022 MTV VMAs, Taylor made an appearance at an awards ceremony. That evening, she also unveiled Midnights, her tenth studio album. The 32-year-old was a nominee for the 2022 MTV EMAs in six different categories. After the album's Oct. 21 release, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, and Taylor became the first artist in the chart's more than 64-year history to ever occupy every single top-10 song position.
BTS took home the prize for Biggest Fans at this year's EMAs for the sixth time in a row, making it one of the major K-Pop triumphs. In addition, BLACKPINK took up the prize for best metaverse performance, the EMA's newest category, for their virtual PUBG Mobile concert. Lisa won the Best K-Pop Award as well. The Best-Hip-Hop and Best Song awards went to Nicki Minaj for Super Freaky Girl. Additionally honoured in the Best Live category was Harry Styles.
