Yang claimed that 'Seven' borrowed a similar scale sequence from Fin.K.L's 'Time of Mask,' a track released almost 24 years ago. Yang provided evidence to HYBE, the management company, seeking an inquiry into the matter. Although HYBE hasn't issued an official response, BIGHIT Music, Jungkook's talent management agency, reacted to the accusations. In a formal statement, BIGHIT firmly refuted the plagiarism allegations, asserting that 'Seven' was a collaborative effort involving five international producers and had no connection to the older domestic song.

The agency deemed the allegations one-sided and asserted that the song did not fulfill the criteria for plagiarism. BIGHIT described 'Seven' as an invigorating summer song, showcasing Jungkook's charm and promising to elevate the summer experience. As Jungkook embarked on his solo activities, the agency urged fans to anticipate and support his digital single and upcoming endeavors.
