Be it Hollywood or Bollywood nepotism is the most heated topic in both worlds. But privilege comes with its own pros and cons. With the term becoming a staple in social media vernacular, with the hashtag #nepotismbaby garnering almost 10 million views on TikTok over a few weeks. There’s no brief needed as to how the famous families or powerful personalities can play a huge role to get the leg-up in Hollywood.
For the unversed Maude Apatow who is seen playing this loveable-girl-next-door in Euphoria is actually a product of nepotism. But the fans have given the actress a green flag for her out-of-the-world performance. Twitteratis said, “shoutout to Maude Apatow gotta be one of my fav nepotism babies ????”, “Maude Apatow might be in the Dakota Johnson/Jack Quaid side of nepotism babies (good)”.
In a recent conversation with the Los Angeles Times, Maude noted, ‘This is the age-old battle for nepotism babies, they want to be ‘taken seriously as talented in their own right, but begrudge having to recognize their privilege. But like any privilege, the presence of it does not mean you do not work hard or do not face other challenges, but it does mean that your life is easier than those without the same privilege’.
Having said that there’s a clear partition between the nepo kids getting it right and the ones who make it uncomfortable to watch them in a billion-dollar movie.
