Mike Epps, an actor, and comedian apologized to fans when security screeners discovered a revolver in his carry-on luggage at Indianapolis International Airport. The Transportation Security Administration contacted airport police after discovering a Smith & Wesson. Epps' backpack contained a 38-caliber revolver loaded with four bullets.

Epps Explains Why He Had The Loaded Gun

In a video posted to his Instagram account, Epps told fans that he "had a long night" in his hometown and forgot about the pistol. He stated that he carries a gun for protection.

"Shoutout to all my fans out there, and I apologize if you're seeing any negativity regarding a gun charge at an airport. "I had a long night, I had a gig in my hometown, and I honestly forgot I had my weapon in my backpack," Epps stated in the video.

He also further explained, "Now, if you're wondering why I carry a gun, I carry money all the time, I'm wearing jewelry, and these individuals are out here stealing people. So I want to make sure I make it known that I ain't out here doing nothing unlawful but I carry a gun on me because I gotta protect myself. Sometimes I'm not with my security. Well, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still feeling good. And I'm sorry that it happened. All I can say is that the world is crazy. Maintain your grip." Epps didn’t fall into any legal problems as no charges were filed against him.
