During a historic evening in Los Angeles, Beyonce became the Grammys' most-awarded artist ever. The singer, who arrived late to the awards show due to traffic, took home prizes for best R&B song, best dance/electronic recording, best dance/electronic album, and best traditional R&B performance. She made history last night as she has bagged 32 Grammys in her music career which is the most by any artist.
By bagging 32 awards, she thereby surpassed Hungarian-British conductor George Solti, whose mark of 31 Grammys had stood for more than 20 years. The singer accepted her award and stated, "I'm trying not to be too emotional, I'm just trying to receive this night." She continued by thanking her parents, particularly her late uncle Jonny, who worked with her to create stage costumes before she became well-known. Beyonce has formerly claimed that her interest in dance music and its historical ties to the LGBTQ community was sparked by his battle with HIV.
Harry Styles also received a major Grammy Award in 2023. In the Best Pop Vocal Album category, he took home the prize. The EGOT award went to Viola Davis. As a result of narrating audiobooks, she has earned Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. A Beautiful Time, the best country album, was won by Willie Nelson. Un Verano Sin Ti, by Bad Bunny, was named Best Urban Music Album. The Korean boy band BTS was not successful in receiving a Grammy. The best pop or duet performance award went to Unholy by Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
