Chris Martin, the lead singer, expressed thanks to the passionate fans and the Indonesian authorities for allowing the legendary British band to perform in Jakarta.

About Coldplay’s Concert

The British group, which included Chris Martin (vocals), Jonny Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass), and Will Champion (drums), wowed the crowd with a range of engaging performances, including traditional welcomes and clever rhymes. They took the stage at nine o'clock in the evening and began the night with the energetic song "Higher Power."

Coldplay fans react enthusiastically to Chris Martin's heartfelt 'Assalamu alaikum':

Following the lively opening, Chris Martin welcomed the audience with a hearty "Assalamu alaikum," causing an immediate uproar among concertgoers, many of whom responded in kind.

Martin and his bandmates flawlessly transitioned to the next song without skipping a beat, satisfying Coldplay fans' intense expectation throughout the evening.

Coldplay performed a dynamic repertoire of their greatest songs over the course of over two hours, including "Adventure of a Lifetime," "Paradise," "The Scientist," and "Viva La Vida."

Martin's strong voice, dramatic stage presence, and Coldplay's well-known distinctive sound produced an exciting environment from beginning to end.

The stage design, decorations, and the flashing of colourful lights from the audience's wristbands contributed to the thrill of the event.

Each song has its own visual identity, which was illustrated by the spectacular sea of yellow lights during the performance of "Yellow."

Coldplay fans in Jakarta are wowed by Chris Martin's bilingual magnetism:

Chris Martin's contact with the audience extended beyond English. Martin impressively pronounced various Indonesian phrases, including "terima kasih" (thank you), "apa kabar" (how are you), "selamat malam" (good evening), and "selamat datang" (welcome).

Surprisingly, he even performed rhymes in Indonesian, eliciting great applause from the audience.

One of his amusing rhymes garnered particularly enthusiastic applause. After concluding each phrase, the crowd did not forget to exclaim 'cakeeepp (cool),' as is traditional while hearing rhymes.

“Tuesday is physics exam day, study hard to pass. How’s Jakarta city? Can I borrow a hundred?” Martin said, imitating a witty phrase that had lately gone widespread on social media.

Coldplay's Jakarta performance, part of the "Music of the Spheres Tour 2023," was the band's first in Indonesia since its inception in 1997. The evening was a celebration of music, cultural interchange, and the band's long-standing relationship with their global following.
