According to her publicist, Annie Wersching, who was best known for her work in the television series 24 The Vampire Diaries and the video game The Last of Us, died early on January 29 after a battle with cancer. 45 was the actress's age.
Following Wersching's tragic passing, her husband Stephen Full made an impassioned statement to the media. It said, “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”
On his social media account, Neil Druckmann, the creator of the upcoming HBO Max series based on the computer game The Last of Us, also expressed his sorrow and condolences. His message read, “Just found out my dear friend, Annie Wersching, passed away. We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”

Candice King, known as Carlonie Forbes from The Vampire Diaries, shared picture and wrote on her Instagram stories, “My heart is broken thinking about Annie's family and loved ones. She had such a warm presence and a bright smile that would immediately put everyone in a fantastic mood. She was an unforgettable member of the TVD family. I remember one day on set we were catching up in our downtime between scenes in the Salvatore house. She was playing with her son who had joined her while she was in Atlanta to film. I was pregnant with my first and this was my first glimpse of seeing a mom on a set with her child and loving all of it. She spoke so encouragingly and gave wonderful advice on my next chapter in motherhood. I didn't have many scenes with Annie, and while I know she was passionate about her work, she LOVED being a Mom. My condolences to her husband and their three sons. The link is for a GoFundMe for her family to help ease the cost of medical bills and funeral expenses as they take the time to grieve.”
