The world can be parted in two groups, one who are fans of the Furious franchise and others who are not, apparently the latter may have a bad taste in movies! It is indeed one of the successful movie franchises and every addition in this franchise is celebrated like a fest. Even The Fate of the Furious that earned $1.2 billion at the box office. And encouraged by such phenomenal success of the film, Universal studios announced upcoming sequel and the ninth film in the series was earlier scheduled on April 19, 2019. And now are per the latest updates, Fast and Furious 9 will be releasing on a new date, which is postponed by almost a year!
Though the studio didn’t release any clarification on what was the reason, why did they postpone, and if rumours are to be believed it then the drama that surrounds Fast and Furious 9 could be the reason for the delay in the project. Many crew members took notice of tension between Tyrese Gibson and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson back in September. Gibson left a comment on one of Johnson's Instagram photos and suggested that Johnson was in talks to do a film centered on his character Luke Hobbs. Although this is not the first time that any fast and furious films got delayed, following the death of Paul Walker.
But from studio’s point of view, Universal is freeing up the 2020 slot for the upcoming Fast and Furious by moving the animated Trolls 2 forward by two months from April 10, 2020, to Feb. 14, 2020.
